Well it has been a hard time for all the Australian horse world since August 2007 but now hopefully we can look forward with anticipation.
The big event at Warrawee was the loss of our senior stallion Arabian Park Banner on 7th August 2007 at 33 years of age. An extremely sad time for us. He was the backbone of our stud and much loved. A gentleman of the breed - his blood runs thru nearly every horse on the property and he will never be forgotten.
We also lost one of our foundation mares Warrawee Muniq (Ibn Farazdac/Casheen) at 25 years young. She was a much admired mare and had produced well for the stud. Two daughters are still at the stud Naadiq by Mustafa, and Angelique by the Mustafa son Nataal.
Crysta Lance an American artist contacted the stud last year after seeing our webpage and the Muniq son Warrawee Don Juan with his rare reverse blood marking. She requested permission to reproduce Don Juan and with the permission of his present owners Lissa and Simon Harper this reproduction was done. It sold out immediately Crysta says – we can see why.
Perhaps international web sighters might like to see our Aussie spirit with the outbreak of EI in Australia . A show was held at Taree in New South Wales some months back with hobby horses decorated to replace the real horses due to the ban on horse shows. What great fun they had we believe – lovely to see their sense of humour during a heartbreaking time for so many.
Deb Brown of West. Australia took the young Warrawee Aveeance (Heini/Malika) to the Henty Dressage Championships where she won her Preliminary 1.4 with 67.4% and Champion, and came second in her Novice 2.4 with 64.8%. Congratulations Deb.

Jayde Porta took her well performed Partbred gelding Warrawee Audateeus to Wirlinga Combined Training day in May before EI hit and won the dressage by 15 points. She decided to give him a go in the jumping phase and he got to the second last jump before being eliminated – a bit of untapped talent !! March 2008 news just in Wodonga Show – Audateeus Supreme Champion Led for the second year in a row, Reserve Champion ridden and Jayde was Champion Rider – congratulations Jayde. See photo of Audateeus tacked up for maybe his next project.
Warrawee Gulfstreem (see Pictorial) was Champion Derivative Stallion at the Perth Royal Show 2007. Lovely news for Bevanlee Stud. Congratulations to his connections. Bevanlee Stud is moving from Western Australia to a lovely property in Tasmania in the near future – nice to have them over in the East.
News from the owners of the young geldings Warrawee Mardee Gras, Warrawee Caseeno (3rd ride at the breakers) and Warrawee A Go Go – that they are all progressing nicely under saddle. Mardee Gras had qualified for the dressage at the Aus Champs that wasn't to be in March 2008.

Photos in from Kathy Drew of Queensland of 11 y.o. Briar having a riding lesson on the 4 y.o.stallion Warrawee A'Bandom – gee these purebred stallions are wild!!!!
Kathy also sends photos of the young Warrawee Reegardez Moi (Bandomol/Adronica) at Queensland Challenge Show and making progress under saddle – such a beautiful boy. Kathy recently had him out on a 10k ride and ran into a local farmer mustering cattle and joined in, and later attempted some drafting in the yards – Kathy says he was quite excited about that. Hopefully he will be out in the show ring soon. Both of these stallions stand in Queensland at Kathy's Millbilly Hill Equestrian Facility.

Margaret Hansen sends photos of her Bobbi Dazzlah foal Arturo playing football – versatile these purebreds aren't they. Arturo is off to Future Farms for some halter training and to be shown at the Foal Show – good luck Margaret.
Pernilla Butters of South Australia owner of the Australian National Champion Gelding Al Kareeme Armani (Warrawee Versacee/Warrawee Symphonee) took him to an EFA Hack show in February 2008. The trip was to get him used to being ridden in an indoor with other horses. He came away with the Champion Hack ribbon – under two judges – great news Pernilla. He came across to Victoria for the Diamond Showcase in March and here he is being sashed for Champion by H.R.H. Princess Alia Al Hussein Al Saleh of Jordan – one of many ribbons that day. Congratulations.

Veneetia left Victoria on the 22nd August 2007 and finally got to her new home in Cairns on the 22nd January 2008 – an incredible five months to the day since she left. . So sad for Tanja and Julie – who have had to absorb extra costs not anticipated at the time. Great reports now from Julie – Veneetia is much admired in Cairns – worth waiting for!!!
